I’m Dave Morrison, welcome to my blog! I’ve worked in all kinds of fields of software development over the years (about 14 years now) but the one that really stuck with me was SQL Server. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed the others but SQL Server seemed to just fit in really well with the way my brain works!
So I’ve been working in SQL Server for most of those 14 years in some way or another but only really started to specialise in it maybe 9 years ago. Now my caveat here is I’m NOT A DBA, I’m a developer. You ask me to set up clusters of high availability and I’ll probably stare back at you blankly for a while the go grab a book and frantically try and figure it out.
However if you ask me to design and build a database, or performance tune some SQL or build something nice in the BI stack (within reason) then I’ll be well away.
This site is a collection of my thoughts, feelings, opinions and ways I get technical stuff to work. I’m not saying it’s always the best way in the world but it is all honest working content.
Surprisingly (as its me that’s written it) this is all my own opinions and doesn’t represent the options of my company etc etc snore blah blah boring boring
